Therapy Services
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy explores the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We can identify thought patterns and develop ways to reframe and shift patterns that are no longer serving us. CBT blends nicely with mindfulness practices to increase our awareness of our cognitive experience. Dialectical Behavior Therapy focuses on creating resilience, tolerance, and the ability to self regulate. Mindfulness is a core component of DBT as well. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy also blends mindfulness and works on thought patterns. ACT encourages us to live a life of meaning even in the midst of difficulty.
EMDR Therapy offers an opportunity to meaningfully explore stressful & traumatic memories & experiences, depression & anxiety, or intrusive memories & thoughts so they can be less intense in your daily life. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and an Approved Consultant. My training includes a somatic and attachment focused approach to EMDR that offers a deeper look at attachment, your “Answer”, and relational longing while completing the traditional 8 phases of EMDR.
EMDR Therapy
Mindful practices are at the heart of my work. You will be invited to notice the present and connect with what is showing up in the ‘now’. Mindfulness has become a buzz word and can be confusing … learn how the simple practice of noticing can support your nervous system regulation. As a Certified Yoga Teacher, I offer a somatic approach to understanding and processing stress and trauma that gets stored in the body. We can focus on skill building and can also weave this approach throughout your sessions as well.
Mindfulness Therapy
In our life journeys, we tend to heal in layers. Life transitions can often bring to the surface something that you thought you had dealt with, put away, or no longer let bother you. You may have done therapy to get to the point where you are - you adapted and learned to live with the situations you have survived. And yet, a different type of support may be needed at this point.
Virtual EMDR Intensives
An EMDR intensive is individual therapy delivered over the course of several hours in one day or over several days (as based on your goals and needs). During your free consultation, we will explore your goals and discuss how an EMDR intensive may offer support. This experience may serve you best if you’re comfortable with personal insight, ability to track sensations and emotions, and have developed resources and coping skills to support yourself when triggered. If you’re not comfortable in these areas, a series of individual sessions may be recommended to help strengthen these areas to then make the most of your time in an Intensive setting. Again, this can all be discussed in your free consultation so please reach out if you’re interested in learning more.
What to Expect During an EMDR Intensive
An Accelerated Preparation Phase :
During this, we’ll complete a few relational resource practices and a few mindfulness practices to learn more about what your system needs and to help create a safe and open atmosphere.
Processing Phases:
These phases vary depending on the individual and will consume most of our time together as we move at whatever pace your system needs.
Additional Support:
In addition to the traditional EMDR processing phases, I offer an eclectic blend of somatic practices, yoga/mindful movement, and creative practices designed to support and strengthen your therapeutic experience. Breaks will be built in to allow time for you to reflect on your journey and to nourish and care for your system.
Let’s connect and explore this option for you!
